Our Stylists’ Guide: 5 Ways to Wear your Sunglasses

How to wear sunglasses? In the early 1900’s Hollywood stars began wearing sunglasses and set off a trend for years to follow: the idea that sunglasses can be as much for fashion as for function! Fortunately, with sunglasses like Randolph USA's, you don’t have to choose between style and function. You can amp up your style while also protecting your eyes through our distortion-free 100% UVA/UVB Sky TecTM lenses.

So, with that, we had our top-tier stylists put together 5 rules to live by when styling your Randolph Sunglasses! Learn more below.

How to Style and Wear your Sunglasses:

1) Nail the perfect sunglass shape that suits your face shape.

Different face shapes suit different styles of sunglasses. Fact. Nothing you do to look good in sunglasses will have a greater impact than just finding the right pair of sunnies that accentuate your features and face shape. Need help? Read our Ultimate Guide to The Best Sunglasses for Your Face Shape blog and get this step done first.

2) Minimize accessories, jewelry and color. And let your sunglasses rule.

We love this recent shot of @ashleighaustin who knows just how to make her P3 sunglasses steal the show. Her secret? Keep it casual. Loose t-shirt, delicate necklace, rockin’ hair. Let your sunglasses shine.

We hope everyone has a rockin’ weekend! @ashleighaustin

3) Suit it Up.

Pair your sunglasses with a sharp collared shirt for that ‘Don Draper iconic’ cool. Yep, nothing says style like a collared shirt paired with classic aviator sunglasses. Trust us (and Don!). For women, try pairing an elegant scarf or professional dress with a pair of metal aviators.

What are the best sunglasses to wear with a suit?

Our stylists always recommend classic rectangular or tear drop sunglass shapes in 23k gold, chrome or matte black finishings.

4) Be Rugged. Be True. How to wear sunglasses in the outdoors.

We love how @rutherfoto styled his Aviators with a denim jacket, stubbled beard and a well-loved baseball hat- all the while putting woodland miles on his 4×4. Use your sunglasses. Take them out in nature. Live. The military-spec Randolph Aviator, after all, was designed to withstand cockpit G-forces in fighter planes, so they’re right at home in the great outdoors.

5) Wear your sunglasses without ‘wearing them’.

Hook the look. Sunglasses hooked onto outside pockets or shirt collars is a great way to accessorize your outfit and make a style statement without actually ‘wearing’ them. Unless you are one of those people that wear sunglasses inside (hey, we know many!) then there’s many times when you probably find yourself propping your sunnies up on your head. Consider hooking your sunglasses instead. It’s better for the longevity of the frame plus you eliminate the nose pads getting stuck in your hair! We hate that.

“When it comes to aviators, we’re usually interested in two qualities—understated design and authenticity. Randolph Engineering features both.”
