What Is Angel Flight NE?

Angel Flight NE (Angel Flight Northeast) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to removing geographical and financial barriers that prevent patients from accessing essential medical care. They arrange free air and ground transportation for individuals and families who cannot afford or physically manage long trips to reach specialized treatments, hospitals, or ongoing care facilities.

Angel Flight NE’s network relies on 450+ volunteer pilots who donate not only their time but also their aircraft — ranging from single-engine planes to partnerships with commercial airlines like JetBlue and Cape Air— to fly patients across the United States. Ground crew volunteers help patients arrive safely at airports and hospitals.
Since its founding in 1996, Angel Flight NE has coordinated over 110,000 missions, flying patients more than 16 million miles to receive vital medical care.

Many patients must travel hundreds or even thousands of miles to access life-saving treatments or specialized care — sometimes on a recurring basis.
